Council Charters

Sanctuary Advisory Council Charter:
A sanctuary advisory council's charter is the instrument by which a council is officially established. It provides the scope of the council's responsibilities and serves as the constitution for the council's operation. The charter is reviewed and revised every three to five years, depending upon the charter.

Charter Amendment:
A charter amendment contains a new provision or clarifying language of an existing provision in the council charter. The charter (including the amendment) remains in force for the remainder of the charter's original term, and the amendment is incorporated into the body of the charter when it comes up for renewal.
