Issues Galvanizing Advisory Councils

Although national marine sanctuary advisory councils tend to provide advice and recommendations on issues specific to individual sanctuaries and their respective communities, a few issues have resonated with, or galvanized, advisory councils across the National Marine Sanctuary System. Two of the most recent topics catching the attention of a suite of national marine sanctuary advisory councils are ocean acidification and the national marine sanctuary nomination process. Below is a compilation of the resolutions, motions, and letters prepared in written form by the various advisory councils on these topics.

Other advisory council actions can be found on site-specific websites (see "Field Site Links" section) or the Advisory Council Actions webpage.
