Large juvenile Loggerhead sea turtles, (Caretta caretta), are the most common sea turtle encountered at the Flower Gardens and Stetson Bank. Five animals have been tracked by satellite technology since 1995. This animal, Philos, is a female who was tagged and tracked for just over a year. She was last seen in October, 1998. All of the animals tagged were happy to stay close to the Flower Garden Bank where they were captured. Research Coordinator, Emma Hickerson, may be contacted for more information. (photo: FGBNMS)
