The waters off the north shore of Kauai are included in the Sanctuary boundary. The Sanctuary program sponsors a number of interpretive activities at Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge, shown here. In addition to humpback whales, other protected marine life visible from the refuge includes the Hawaiian monk seal, spinner dolphins, and green sea turtles. Kilauea Point is also one fo the most important seabird nesting grounds in the main Hawaiian Islands. (photo: Jean Souza)
