PIR and Waikiki Aquarium Launch New Partnership

The Pacific Islands Region (PIR) proudly announces its partnership with the Waikiki Aquarium. The Aquarium's mission, to inspire and promote understanding, appreciation and conservation of Pacific marine life, makes them a key strategic partner with the PIR. Some of the exciting projects being planned include a new touch tank, a monk seal skeleton exhibit and the opening of a brand new gallery on the marine ecosystem of the Northwestern Hawaiian islands. The Aquarium is partner with other NOAA agencies, and is co-sponsoring a Lecture Series, Nana I Ke Kai, with NOAA's Pacific Services Center (see announcement below for the first presentation February 18). The PIR will continue to work with the Waikiki Aquarium to host a variety of events throughout 2010.
