This animal, Triton, was first captured in June of 1995, then again in June 1996, and finally in February 1997. He was seen showing off his long tail on the surface in October 1998, and was recently observed resting under a ledge in July 1999. He is a very interesting animal for a couple of reasons: he is a male, and is going through puberty. He weighs around 300 pounds. (photo: Greg Bunch)
