Redfish (Sebastes fasciatus), also known as ocean perch, are found both in deep boulder reefs and among cerianthid forests in the muddy basins. These slow-growing, long-lived animals can reach ages of 50 or more. Because of its late age of maturity (5-6 years) scientists believe the species may not be able to easily recover from overfishing.
