Apply Electronically at Grants.gov

Applicants to NOAA grant programs should now apply online. The California B-WET Program strongly encourages applicants to use the Grants.gov website to submit applications electronically. The only electronic applications that will be accepted are those submitted through Grants.gov. Grants.gov is the primary application method for BWET funding.

Applicants that wish to submit electronically must first complete the registration process with Grants.gov. This process takes about two weeks. You may not be the correct person in your organization to begin this process. Your organization will need to be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) and designate an E-Business Point of Contact if they have not done so already. The E-Business POC will assign Authorized Organization Representative (AOR) rights to those individuals who will have the ability to submit grant applications through Grants.gov.

Registration Steps

  • Register organization with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR)
    (1-888-227-2423)
  • Organization needs to identify its DUNS Number before it can register for
    the CCR: DUNS Assistance (1-866-705-5711)
  • Designate an E-Biz Point of Contact (POC) and a MPIN in the organization's CCR profile
  • Register with the Credential Provider to receive a username and password
  • E-Biz POC registers an Authorized Official Representative (AOR) at Grants.gov
  • Download PureEdge Viewer to open application
  • CAUTION, if you are a Mac user, you will need to read the following before you begin the registration process:
    http://www.grants.gov/assets/
    pureedgemacsupport.pdf

Further registration help is available here or by accessing the "Get Started" tab at Grants.gov

NOAA Grants Online

Full implementation of electronic grant submission and servicing is a two-phase process Grants.gov and NOAA's Grant Online system. Grants.gov is currently operational, and many agencies use this system to accept applications electronically. You can already use Grants.gov to find Federal government-wide competitive grant opportunities.

The NOAA Grants Online system is still being developed. Currently, Grants Online is the system NOAA uses to accept applications from Grants.gov and route them to the proper competitive program to review, process, and administer. More importantly, Grants Online will handle all the Financial and Progress Reporting, No-Cost Extension requests, reprogramming, etc. beginning in 2006.

To keep informed about Grants Online we recommend you bookmark the Grants Online website and regularly check the site for updated information.

Hard Copy or Paper Application Submission

Paper applications can be submitted. A signed original and 2 copies may be submitted to Attn: Seaberry Nachbar, B-WET Program Manager, Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, 299 Foam St., Monterey CA 93940. The closing deadline for applying through grants.gov is the same as for paper submissions. Forms for paper submission can be found through this website or by contacting Seaberry Nachbar at the above address, by phone (831) 647-4204 or via email to: Seaberry.Nachbar@noaa.gov.
