Get to know Great Lakes B-WET through this video profile of grantee, Huron Pines. Through their partnership with the Northeast Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative, they bring many organizations together in support of students and teachers who are using the outdoors as a classroom and taking on environmental stewardship projects for their community in the Lake Huron watershed. This project was filmed in 2021 following local COVID-19 safety guidelines at the time.
Get to know Great Lakes B-WET through this video profile of grantee, Inland Seas Education Association. Through the Great Lakes Watershed Field Course, Inland Seas staff educate students and teachers on the importance of the Great Lakes basin. In 2019, students featured in this video, who were inspired by their Lake Michigan "school-ship" field experience, returned to Ohio and took action in their local watershed.

Educating the Next Generation About the Great Lakes Ecosystem!

NOAA Great Lakes Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET) program funds locally relevant, authentic experiential learning for K-12 students and educators through Meaningful Watershed Experiences (MWEEs).

Great Lakes B-WET region supports projects serving students and educators in the Great Lakes watershed in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, and Wisconsin.

Recognizing that an educated community is the key to understanding and sustaining the Nation's ocean and coastal environments, NOAA has developed B-WET into a national program. Great Lakes B-WET regional grants are funded through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, supporting experience-based learning opportunities for youth to promote Great Lakes stewardship.
