Look closely -- can you spot the barracuda?

These fish are ferocious hunters, preying on fish like jacks and grunts, or these schooling

Barracudas rely on their incredible speed and the act of surprise to catch their prey.

Since barracuda can grow to large sizes, they have few predators.

While barracuda are curious and known to approach and follow divers, they do not attack humans unprovoked.

Barracuda can be found in many of our national marine sanctuaries and marine national monuments, like this one swimming in Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary.
