National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council Actions
National marine sanctuary advisory councils are community-based advisory groups established to provide advice and recommendations to the superintendents of the national marine sanctuaries and the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument on issues including management, science, service, and stewardship; and to serve as liaisons between their constituents in the community and the sanctuary. Advisory councils offer collective advice and recommendations, approved through consensus or majority vote, in a variety of forms including, but not limited to, resolutions, motions, letters and reports. Below is a list of the non-administrative actions prepared in written form since 2011 by the 14 advisory councils supporting the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries.
