Cheeca Rocks Sanctuary Preservation Area

Soft corals and brain corals abound in Cheeca Rocks Sanctuary Preservation Area in Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. This is the only area in the Upper Keys designated to specifically protect inshore patch reefs. Diving, snorkeling, and boating are allowed inside this zone, and visitors must be sure to use the mooring buoys in order to prevent anchor damage to corals.
