Coral Reefs are Unique

Many years of reef development and erosion have resulted in unique formations on coral reefs, such as these ledge, spur, and groove formations on this reef off Puako on Hawai‘i Island. The high roughness and structure is excellent habitat for many species of coral, fish and invertebrates.
