L.M. Mason

A favorite shipwreck to visit among snorkelers and kayakers, the remains of the schooner L.M. Mason are inside Presque Isle Peninsula's North Bay. The vessel was constructed by a shipbuilder in Port Huron, Michigan, in 1853, and wrecked just eight years after being launched. Today, it can be accessed from land using the hiking trails around the New Presque Isle Lighthouse historic site.
